RST Al & Automation – Live and In Person in Groningen!

Location: Groningen, Netherlands
Date: May 11, 2026 to May 13, 2026

In this class,Michael Bolton will teach you how use the Rapid Software Testing approach to examine AI-based systems, and how to apply those skills to both your organization’s products and your testing tools. Whether you’re a tester, developer, analyst, or engineering leader, this workshop will sharpen how you think about software testing.

Learn more about the three-day Rapid Software Testing and AI class, and register here.

The class, co-authored with James Bach, is designed to help you—and through you, your organization—to expand notions of testing and automation beyond GUI or API output checking to focus on business risk. These days, that requires us to to look both pragmatically and critically at AI products and the tools we use to test them.

You’ll learn by experience, through exercises, puzzles, and follow-up discusssion. You’ll practice, observe, and critique creative uses of AI tools to analyze products, probe data, and visualize and report on test coverage. We’ll help you to analyze dimensions of cost and value, and to evaluate how different kinds of tools can help or hurt your testing. And we’ll talk about how to recognize and learn from things that can happen in the secret life of testing and automation.

Maybe you’re a coder; maybe you’re not. This class is designed to help you either way. If don’t write code, we won’t teach you how, but we will help you learn to work immediately and productively with people who do.

This class is not affiliated with any tool vendor. We’ll use tools in class, but we don’t teach you to operate any specific tool. We may demonstrate or mention particular tools during the class, but we have not accepted and will not accept any payment or benefit from commercial interests. (We may be biased, but we have not been bribed.) We’ll also show you how to analyze vendor claims critically.

In short, this class is about the essence of test strategy: vision and setting goals that make sense for you and your organization. The promises and risks of AI make that more necessary than ever.
